  • My mother had been sick for several years and through the grace of God and medical science she was able to outlive the 6-12 months predicted. Recently, my mother's health began to fail rapidly and she was brought to my home to hospice. Because the medical field gave so much to my mother, I thought she could contribute so that others might benefit. AGR was recommended by the hospital. They were professional, caring and expedited the application. When my mother passed away later that evening, I called AGR who in turn notified "Simpson Funeral Home". They responded promptly and were kind and gentle when they picked up my mother who was then transported to MD.
A very caring experience in a very emotional situation.

My nephew who has limited intellectual and cognitive abilities was coerced by a hospital social worker to donating my sister in law to AGR. He he didn't understand the process of donating his mother's body as he thought this was what she wanted because her drivers licence indicated "organ donor." AGR made no attempts to contact other family members(siblings) to help explain the process to him. Because he was her immediate next of kin, he was able to signed the legal consent before she passed. While we respect the decision that my nephew made, as we feel her donation to be a love offer to teach others about the human anatomy, we feel that Donor Service of AGR does not respect the grief of other family members. Megan Graydon the donor service coordinator is a heartless, uncaring person who caused other family members unnecessary grief, in that she would not allow siblings to pick up the ashes at the request of my nephew who is currently in an institution. Megan sent our loved one ashes back to the hospital for fear of a law suit. We now have to travel more than a hundred miles to try and retrieve my sister in law ashes. Please keep us in your prayer that we find closure and give our loved one a final resting that awaits her with a memorial.
